A breaker that will not hold, lights that flicker, a panel with no room left. Our electricians work from a service office in south OKC and a head office in Bethany, and the line is answered around the clock.

The short version
Quick answer
Electricians in Oklahoma City answer this line 24/7 for tripping breakers, dead outlets, 200-amp panel upgrades, EV chargers and standby generators. The electrician comes from our service office on the south side, finds the fault before quoting any parts, and pulls the permit through OKC Development Services whenever the job needs one, from a single breaker swap to a whole-house rewire.
Amped Up Electric runs the phones and the trucks itself, so the person who answers at 2 a.m. can tell you which breaker to switch off while an electrician is on the way.

Oklahoma City conditions
Two things shape electrical work in Oklahoma City more than anything else: the age of the housing and the weather. The median home here dates to 1982, so a large share of the calls we take are 1960s and 70s ranches carrying their original 100-amp service, backstabbed outlets, and in some cases aluminum branch wiring from the 1965 to 1973 window. Those homes were wired for a window unit and a range, not for a 40-amp EV charger and a heat pump on top of central air.
Then there is the weather. The October 2020 ice storm left more than 300,000 customers dark and Oklahoma City was still restoring tens of thousands of connections eleven days later. Every spring the severe season runs from mid-April into June, and lightning is a real cause of the fried garage door openers and dead HVAC boards we see afterward. That is why standby generators, transfer switches and whole-home surge protection have become everyday jobs rather than luxuries.
In the historic districts around Heritage Hills and Mesta Park the problem is older still. Houses from the 1906 to 1930 boom often hide knob-and-tube behind newer drywall, and exterior changes such as a new meter location go through the Historic Preservation Commission. We plan those jobs with the paperwork in mind so the inspection is a formality.

Where we work
Most of our residential work sits inside the Oklahoma City limits, with the service office on the south side of the city and the head office in Bethany on the northwest edge of the metro. From those two points the same crews reach Warr Acres, The Village, Del City, Midwest City and Moore in ordinary drive times, and Edmond, Yukon, Mustang and Norman a little further out. The Service Area page explains where coverage is strongest, where response takes longer, and what falls outside it.
What happens after you call
The line is staffed around the clock. Describe what you see, smell or hear and we tell you whether to kill the breaker before we arrive.
A tripping breaker gets a load reading and a thermal check, not a new breaker on a guess. You get the cause in plain words before any price.
For anything past a simple repair, you get the scope, the parts, and whether a permit is involved, before we start.
Panel changes, new circuits, generators and EV chargers go through OKC Development Services. We file it and meet the inspector.
Circuits get labeled, covers go back on, and you get a walk-through of what changed and what to watch.
How we work
One number, day or night. The same crews take the 2 a.m. burning-smell call and the Tuesday panel upgrade.
The service office on Kelham handles the city; the Bethany head office anchors the northwest metro.
Every repair starts with testing. Replacing what failed without asking why is how the same call comes back in a month.
Service upgrades, new circuits, chargers and generators get permitted and inspected. It is how the work stays insurable.
Kill the breaker if you can reach it safely, then call. The line is answered around the clock and the first available electrician rolls from the south OKC service office.

Calls are answered 24/7 and dispatched from the service office on the south side of the city. Burning smells, sparking and a dead panel go first; planned work is scheduled at a time that suits you. When every truck is out we tell you the honest window rather than a hopeful one.
Yes. In Oklahoma City, service upgrades, new circuits, EV charger circuits and generator installs are permitted through OKC Development Services and inspected. We file the permit and meet the inspector; you do not have to manage any of it.
It can be. A breaker that trips under a heavy load is doing its job, but one that trips at random, will not reset, or feels warm points to a wiring fault or a failing breaker. Stop resetting it and have the circuit tested.
That is one of the most common panel jobs we do in the metro. Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco panels have breakers that can fail to trip. Replacement is a same-amperage swap or an upgrade to 200 amps, depending on what the house needs.
We install Generac and Kohler air-cooled standby units, on natural gas where it is available and propane where it is not. We also set up interlock kits and manual transfer switches for homeowners who already own a portable unit.
Yes. Bethany is home to the head office, and the northwest metro is covered from there. Edmond, Moore, Yukon, Mustang and Norman are regular stops. The Service Area page shows where response is fastest.
Homes built between 1965 and 1973 may have single-strand aluminum branch circuits. The permanent fix the CPSC recognizes is a COPALUM crimp at every connection; AlumiConn connectors are the alternative. We test the connections first and price the repair by device count.
One number for emergencies and planned work, answered 24 hours a day. Tell the person who picks up what you are seeing and we take it from there.
